Everything is a lean, fast, powerful alternative for Window's default search tool. Everything let's you search your local hard drive using keywords and a simple user interface.
When Everything is installed, it indexes all of the content on your hard drive, then creates a searchable database. The free software does a good job of keeping the database up to date despite using very few resources.
Besides speeding up local searches, Everything can give you remote access to everything stored on your hard drive. If you set up an HTTP server, Everything can be configured to give you remote access to your indexed content.
Everything has its limits. You can't control or limit the content it indexes -- Everything indexes everything. The search engine also control who can access your indexed HTTP server.
